The impact of social control theory on crime prevention policies for adults or juveniles

Students will write a paper, no longer than 2,500 words (excluding title page, abstract, and references) that critically examines a major issue in the criminal justice field. This will require students to critically analyze criminal justice policies, the theories behind the policies, and the consequences and/or benefits of such policies. Students may use any of the theories covered in class but they must use only one. Papers must integrate at least 10 peer-reviewed scholarly sources, with 8 of these being recent (10 years or newer).
