Annotated bibliography – mental health interventions evidence check
This 2000-word annotated bibliography will examine your skills in description, critical evaluation and reflective analysis that have been developed throughout the course. Through this assignment you will further your understanding of what makes a particular population sub-group more vulnerable to poor mental health and/or wellbeing, you will develop a deeper understanding of the key social, cultural, economic and behavioural factors contributing to your chosen public mental health problem, and you will critically evaluate the effectiveness of public health interventions in addressing the major contributing factor(s) associated with the specific mental wellbeing needs of your target population. This task has been designed to further your understanding of the target group that you identified and described in Assessment 2. In this assessment task you will present an annotated bibliography detailing eight contemporary articles that focus on your chosen population at risk of poor mental wellbeing and that describe feasible public health interventions to promote wellbeing. Each of the eight annotations should be approximately 250 words in length. The bibliographic (citation) information for each article is not included in the word count. An annotated bibliography gives an account of the research that has been done on a given topic. The aim of an annotated bibliography is to gather and summarize information about a topic you are researching into a single document. This can then be shared with relevant stakeholders in your field as an account of the best evidence available as a basis for determining the best ways forwards, such as choosing an intervention to trial. For this assessment task you will choose the best eight research articles or sources that provide key information regarding how best to intervene to promote mental health and wellbeing in your target population. The annotation for each article needs to include three things: 1. bibliographic data (not included in the word count), 2. a summary of the key finding(s) from the source, written in your own words, and 3. a critical appraisal whereby you assess and reflect on the value and relevance of the source to your target population.
