Question Description

This is a classic in environmental studies at this point. If you’ve taken an ES class you have likely already watched it. If you major in ES/ESCI, you will watch it many, many times. I honestly don’t know how many times I’ve seen it, but I still learn..

I would like you to document the materials system. Annie Leonard (Check it out she’s currently the executive director of Greenpeace (Links to an external site.)) explains the steps of the linear system from extraction to disposal. Write/draw them out and try to make note of the impacts on people and the environment along the way. Ultimately, she says we should aim for a closed system, a circular system. Explain internalized and externalized costs as well and human exploitation of resources.

Submit your notes. Make sure you have the system documented.
